Read the ball. Pick the shot. Own the court.

Slice-Smash is a 3D tennis game that runs in your browser. Drive it flat, whip it with topspin, carve a slice, float a lob or kill the point with a drop shot, on clay, grass, hard and indoor courts.

Opens a bot-vs-bot match in a new tab (about 12 MB).

Gameplay

Built around the rally

Every point is a sequence of choices: where to stand, which shot to play, when to come in. Here is what it looks like on each surface.

FAQ

Questions

What do I need to play?

A desktop or laptop with a recent Chrome or Edge, a keyboard or a gamepad. The game streams into your browser: there is nothing to install. Other browsers are still being tested.

Is it free?

Yes. Slice-Smash is free during the beta.

Why do I need an invitation?

The beta is kept small so we can tune the game with real players. If you do not have a code, write to us and we will add you to the list.

What are the controls?

Move with WASD and aim with the arrow keys. Space hits a drive (topspin), J a sidespin shot, K a slice and L a lob; hold the aim up or down to vary them (flat drive, side-slice, drop shot). Tap Cmd to arm the Super shot for your next hit; Shift dashes. Every key can be remapped, and gamepads work out of the box.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

Not yet. The game needs a keyboard or a gamepad and a desktop-class browser.

What data do you keep?
